Cub Scouts
Earn your Fishing Sports Belt Loop! We can either meet at Everglades Holiday Park or a location of your choosing. We provide all the materials to learn basic fishing techniques above and beyond what is required for your belt loop! Bring your fishing pole to try to land the big one! With the activities you will do, you will have the knowledge and confidence to earn your Fishing Sports Pin.

Fishing
Fishing is done as a recreational sport, a career, commercially and historically as a life skill. Scouts will review fishing regulations, learn the basics tools of fishing, how to tie various knots, proper way to bait a hook, how to identify fish and their habitats and understand the importance of ethical angling.
 
Location: Everglades Holiday Park; Cost: $15/Scouts (minimum 15 scouts), 4 hours; Requirements: Beltloop: 1,2 (3 bring own equip OTO); Pin: 3,4,5,6,7,9
 
 
Boy Scouts
Earn your Fishing Merit Badge or Fly Fishing Merit Badge! We can meet at Everglades Holiday Park or a location of your choosing.  There is quite a bit involved to earn you badge, but no worries, we can cover them all! We provide the equipment and know-how – you just bring your rod & reel to catch your fish.

Fly Fishing Merit Badge
Fly Fishing Fly fishing is more than a sport, it’s an art. Scouts will learn how to balance a fly combo, match the hatch, tie flies specific to what they want to catch, cast and practice ethical angling skills.
 
Location: Everglades Holiday Park; Cost: $20/Scout (minimum 15 scouts), 4 hours; Requirements: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (10 bring own equip OTO)
 
 
Girl Scouts

You may not have a belt loop, pin or badge to earn, but come out anyway to learn the skills of fishing. It isn’t only a fun sport, but a life skill too!
